Learn the basics of drawing – still life, landscape, perspective, and life drawing. For complete geginners and those with some experience.
Course Description
A series of lessons with emphasis on individual interests and development. All levels of ability – from absolute beginners to advanced students are welcome. Each lesson presents a new, entertaining (and occasionally challenging) practical exercise exploring a different aspect of drawing.What your course will cover
First lesson: tonal drawing. At the end of the lesson the students and tutor will discuss topics for the following lessons and the materials required. Topics may include:- basic drawing in charcoal and pencil
- landscape drawing
- quick sketches
- composition and design
- perspective
- creative ideas
- gestural drawing (there will be one lesson with a life model)
- experimentation with various drawing materials and simple printing techniques
What to bring
- selection of drawing pencils: B, 3B, 6B essential (others are optional)
- drawing paper – A2 size (cartridge paper, Spirax or Como pad suitable)
- kneadable eraser
- craft knife for sharpening pencils
- 4 large bulldog clips
- wear old clothes – you are going to get dirty
Other optional materials:
- conte
- graphite sticks
- soft pastels
- drawing pens
- ink, felt tip pens etc.

Please note children must not attend this class unless it is a specified parent/child activity.
